Piper developed a severe seizure disorder, leaving medical specialists baffled, unable to pin point which part of the brain the seizures are coming from or why they occur, as Pipers family continues to seek answers and Piper undergoes extensive
testing, their little girl continues to fight her own little battle, Piper has had up to 25 seizures a day, the seizures have continued to change over time making treatment quite difficult.
Piper went through a stage of regression losing the ability to suck and swallow, including her own secretions, a nasogastric tube was introduced to ensure Piper receives her necessary daily fluid and medications.
Each day begins with a mixture of six anticonvulsants.
Piper is 17months old, unable to sit, crawl, walk or talk, with poor head control, floppy limbs, and seizures which leave her exhausted.
