It may be that Piper presents this way for a while, this may be a rough patch, the next phase, or just another seizure to include in the mix, we can try to control this type of seizure with a more suited medication....
After an EEG we add yet another
anticonvulsant, Although it's certainly not all doom and gloom, as today with an adjustment in meds the seizures are finally slowing....AND..... we say goodbye to the anticonvulsant we have been trying to wean for years! 🎉The drug that hinders development
and slows us down, perhaps this list is why...
rapid heartbeat
nausea (feeling sick)
constipation
dizziness
lethargy
vomiting
skin rashes
sweating
dry mouth
confusion
faintness
irritability
restlessness
dependency (habit-forming)
mood changes
drowsiness
hyperexcitability
sleep disturbances.
The above side effects are common.
Tell your doctor immediately or go to Accident and Emergency at your nearest hospital if you notice
any of the following:
sore throat
fever
easy or unusual bleeding or bruising under the skin
nosebleed
other signs of infection e.g. swollen glands, mouth ulcers
sudden signs of allergy e.g. severe skin rash, itching, hives, blisters
or peeling skin.
These are very serious side effects. You may need urgent medical attention or hospitalisation.
Tell your doctor immediately or go to the Accident and Emergency department of your nearest hospital if you have any thoughts of harming
yourself or committing suicide.
