Today the remarkable… with Poppa grandma cousin Harmony and big sister Willow, giddy with excitement we had standing ovations and beaming smiles.
Piper lying on the floor making every attempt to arch her back in order to
display her utmost approval and excitement towards the attention and conversations being held around her.
The giggling girls and the – “You are so very clever Miss Pipers”
Today once more we have sunshine and smiles.
My attention drifts as Willow and Harmony proudly display the craft they have been busy creating that afternoon.
The sunshine and smiles have turned to devastation and tears!
What could possibly have happened to our little girl! who never
cries!
Are her AFO’s to tight? Did something hurt her? We all rush back to Piper’s side -‘What happened Pipey?’
A smile starts to spread across Piper’s face and she begins to arch her back once more…….confused!
Did that really just happen?
So we decide to remove ourselves from Piper once again continuing on our conversation trying our best to avoid eye contact. An out burst of disapproval and devastation has embraced our little poppet once
again! So… again we rush to Pipers side, and again we are greeted by that same cheeky smile!
To be sure…. to be sure, We repeat our nasty little process with the result ending much the same, by this stage we are all laughing
and bursting with excitement for what this means is something truly wonderful, perhaps the biggest milestone we’ve witnessed this far.
For at THAT moment a connection was made! Our little girl demanding our attention, letting us know she
was happiest when we were around. That small moment fuels our hope! Maybe the stem cells will create new pathways and assist these connections, maybe just maybe the stem cells will help!
Our maybes subside the fear of What if!
